Contact SiteScope

Tips, corrections, and audit requests are all welcome.

SiteScope is a small editorial operation, so we read everything that comes in even when we can't respond to all of it. Here is how we handle the requests we receive.

Audit requests

If there's a domain you'd like us to audit, we want to hear about it. We prioritize requests that come with context: a screenshot of suspicious behavior, a link to a recent news mention, or a specific question about the site's legitimacy. Bare URLs without context go to the back of the queue.

Corrections

We try to get the facts right the first time, but we get things wrong. If you've spotted an error in one of our audits (a wrong WHOIS country, an outdated SSL note, a mischaracterized policy), let us know the audit URL and what specifically should change. We post all material corrections at the top of the affected audit page.

Press

For journalists, researchers, and academic users, we are happy to talk about methodology, share data slices for non-commercial research, and provide context on specific scoring decisions when there's a public-interest story behind the request.

Advertising

We accept contextual advertising in clearly-marked slots. We do not accept sponsored audits, paid placement, or anything else that would compromise our independence.

Security

If you believe you've found a security issue with the SiteScope site itself, please report it privately before disclosing publicly so we have time to fix it. We respond to legitimate reports within 72 hours.

What we don't do over email

We don't remove audits in response to legal threats from the audited site, we don't guarantee timelines for re-audits, and we don't publish anonymous accusations. Everything we put in print, we're willing to defend.
